GIS Specialist-Fort Worth, TX

 

About This Job

You will assist project managers and project engineers in a fast-paced environment creating interactive maps for use by public agencies and private clients. Candidates will be required to convert data into ArcGIS format from existing construction plans, CAD files, and verified information provided by field personnel. Projects will typically include migration to customer web applications and creation of map books. A basic understanding of underground and overhead utilities is necessary.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • GIS data interpretation and manipulation
  • Geo-reference and build custom layers
  • Monitor, review, verify and prepare information, reports, maps and correspondence
  • Extract Data from GIS database upon requests
  • Manage current shapefile database and update subscriptions
  • Prepare QC reports of GIS data

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in GIS, geography, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience using ARC GIS
  • High competencies of GIS mapping and asset management
  • Experience with ESRI ArcSDE
  • Experience configuring software for automated QC of GIS data

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to update and maintain GIS data and maps
  • Able to work with various datasets to create layers and maps
  • Understanding and experience with ESRI software with ability to update an ERSI Enterprise geographic information system
  • Understanding of cartographic standards including cognizance of feature placement in dense areas
  • Understanding of ArcFM interaction with ABB Cadops a plus

Survey CAD Technician-Denver, CO

About this job

Under the direct supervision of a PLS, your will primarily prepare construction staking calculations and prepare legal surveys. You may serve as a lead worker to less experienced Survey Technicians and will be responsible for technical performance on small projects and/or designated tasks on large projects.

Essential Functions and duties

  • Intermediate level of expertise with all major technical aspects of surveying
  • Ability to prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and other boundary surveys, topographic surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions, and exhibits
  • Support field crews with the reduction of field data and the preparation of calculations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, construction staking and data collection required
  • Knowledge of the standard application of surveying techniques and procedures
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Experience with T-Moss format a plus
  • LSI licensure a plus, but not required

Survey Field Technician-Denver, CO

About this job

Working under the immediate supervision and direction of the Project Surveyor and/or Party Chief, you will to perform fieldwork tasks related to boundaries, construction, and mapping requirements of survey projects. Although most of your time will be spent in the field, you will assist with uploading and downloading data and maintaining related records in the office. If not already able to proficiently use all survey instruments, you will be trained on their correct application and use.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Perform survey activities such as: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile and cross section surveys
  • Perform physical tasks such as: line clearing, pounding stakes, setting monuments, and locating critical underground objects
  • Maintain survey instruments
  • Aid Party Chief in minor calculations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of GPS and data collection a plus
  • Must be hard working, dependable, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license
  • Clean driving record

Survey Crew Chief-Fort Worth, TX

About This Job

You will perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. As a crew chief, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, taking field notes, data collection, and performing calculations. Involvement in the office will include reducing survey data, performing calculations, and copying and filing of data.

Project Drainage Engineer-Denver, CO

About This Job

We are looking for a project drainage engineer with 2-5 years of local engineering experience working with Denver Metro Area municipalities, private developers, and the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District.  You will assist project managers and other project engineers in a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects focused on stormwater drainage.  Candidates will be required to efficiently research local design standards and prepare engineering calculations and construction documents.  Experience designing grading and drainage plans, detention and water quality ponds, stormwater handling features, utility improvements, pipe networks, and cross-sections and profiles is required.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Under general supervision, develop drainage studies and reports, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, designs and drawings according to client specifications and Project Manager direction
  • Produce engineering plan sets, specifications, and submit documentation packages while following Harris Kocher Smith standard operating procedures and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
  • Quality check all work and work of other designers to ensure complete and accurate plans are provided to engineers

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
  • Colorado PE certification required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D preparing a variety of grading and drainage plans
  • Ability to prepare calculations for storm sewer drains and detention and water quality ponds
  • Proficiency with UDFCD Design Workbooks and Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling software (HEC-RAS, SWMM, CUHP)
  • Ability to prepare grading, utility, and drainage plans for construction
  • Ability to follow and apply CAD standards
