Survey CAD Technician-Denver, CO

About this job

Under the direct supervision of a PLS, your will primarily prepare construction staking calculations and prepare legal surveys. You may serve as a lead worker to less experienced Survey Technicians and will be responsible for technical performance on small projects and/or designated tasks on large projects.

Essential Functions and duties

  • Ability to prepare ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and other boundary surveys, topographic surveys, subdivision plats, legal descriptions, and exhibits
  • Support field crews with the reduction of field data and the preparation of calculations

Requirements

  • Entry-level to intermediate level of expertise with all major technical aspects of surveying
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, construction staking and data collection required
  • Knowledge of the standard application of surveying techniques and procedures
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with T-Moss format a plus
  • LSI licensure a plus, but not required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Highly proficient in mathematics and measurements
  • Knowledge of survey ethics and technical standards
  • Highly proficient in construction procedures

Survey Field Technician-Denver, CO

About this job

Working under the immediate supervision and direction of the Project Surveyor and/or Party Chief, you will perform fieldwork tasks related to boundaries, construction, and mapping requirements of survey projects. Although most of your time will be spent in the field, you will assist with uploading and downloading data and maintaining related records in the office. If not already able to proficiently use all survey instruments, you will be trained on their correct application and use.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Perform survey activities such as: leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, profile, and cross section surveys
  • Perform physical tasks such as: line clearing, pounding stakes, setting monuments, and locating critical underground objects
  • Maintain survey instruments
  • Aid Party Chief in minor calculations

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of GPS and data collection a plus
  • Must be hard working, dependable, and possess a valid Colorado Driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Some travel within the state of Colorado may be required

Traffic Project Engineer-Denver, CO

 

About This Job

HKS is looking for a project engineer with 2-5 years of local engineering experience working in the Denver Metropolitan Area including CDOT and RTD. You will assist project managers in a fast-paced environment with a variety of transportation and public works projects. Candidates will be required to research local design standards as well as prepare engineering documents. Experience in roadway design, traffic engineering including traffic signal design, utility design and coordination, and construction document preparation is required.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Under general supervision, develop designs and engineering reports from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets, engineering directives, and other data, according to client specifications
  • Produce construction documents including plans, specifications, opinions of probable costs and associated studies and reports
  • General supervision of engineering technicians
  • Assure quality in all deliverable documents prior to their submission

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited school
  • EI or PE certification required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation, Synchro/Sim Traffic, Traffic Impact Studies, Traffic Signal Warrant Analysis, Traffic Signal Design, Construction Phasing and Traffic Control Plans, Signing and Pavement Marking Plans, Geometric Design
